Technician checking an outdoor air conditioning unit at a suburban home

Homeowners in your area

Find out what your system actually needs. Before you sign anything.

One call. One local technician. Not four companies calling you back.

Question 1 of 6

About 60 seconds

What is your system doing right now?

Do you own the home?

What is your ZIP code?

To check who covers your area.

How old is your system?

Has anyone already given you a number?

Call and describe what it is doing

One local technician. Not a form, and not four companies.

Calling does not book a visit. You are asking, not signing.

This one is for property owners

Work on a heating or cooling system has to be authorized by the owner. If you rent, pass this on to your landlord.

  • No email
  • No street address
  • You place the call yourself

Before you sign

Three things about the in-home visit that nobody explains

A man in a polo shirt holding a tablet at a front door

1The person measuring is paid on what you buy

Commission on the total invoice is the standard pay model in the trade. It is not a scandal and it is not hidden. It just means the recommendation and the sale come from the same paycheck.

A printed estimate and a pen on a kitchen table

2The measurement and the offer arrive together

One visit, one person, both handed to you at the same time. You are asked to tell them apart on the spot, at your own table, with the house already hot.

A living room with a floor fan running on a hot afternoon

3So you sign, or you wait

In August those are the same decision. Waiting is not caution here, it is the same bill later, in an emergency, with less room to ask questions.

Three quotes does not fix this. It runs the same test three times, with the same kind of examiner.

How it works

Six questions, then a number you call yourself

  1. Answer six questions. About a minute, no name and no email.
  2. You place the call, from your phone, when you want.
  3. Describe what it is doing. You decide what happens next.

Comparison forms sell one inquiry to three or four companies at once, which is why asking one question turns into a week of calls. This is one call, to one company, placed by you.

  • No email
  • No street address
  • No callback list

Worth knowing

Two claims to check before anyone quotes you

The federal tax credit is over

It ended for equipment placed in service after December 31, 2025. If a quote still leans on it to make the math work, the math does not work.

Your refrigerant is not illegal

The EPA does not require homeowners to replace existing equipment, and repair parts are not restricted. If someone says your system is against the law, they are selling.

The Arizona Attorney General has pursued HVAC sellers over scare tactics and official-looking safety notices. The Nevada State Contractors Board warns homeowners not to be rushed into a decision at the door.

Questions

What people ask before calling

Who am I speaking with?

An independent heating and cooling company covering your area, or the office that books for them. They are not employed by this site.

Is someone going to show up at my house?

Not from this call. The call is a conversation. What happens after is between you and the company.

I already have a quote. Is this for me?

That is the most common reason people call. Read them what you were told, and ask how they got there.

How many reviews do you have?

The rating and the count are at the top of this page, and the badge links straight to the profile so you can read them yourself instead of taking our word for it. The other two things worth checking are above, and both come from federal agencies.

Does this cost me anything?

Not from this site. What a company charges for a service call is theirs to set, so ask on the phone before booking anything.

The quote gets easier to judge once someone else has seen it.

There is no timer on this page and no offer expiring tonight. The only thing that moves is the weather, and how booked the technicians in your area are because of it.
